Home Turf (Ex)

A trader thoroughly knows the area where she practices her trade, buys goods, or sells what she’s collected. At 3rd level, she chooses one favored terrain as the ranger class feature. If she has any abilities (such as a savvy method) that refer to a location subject of her professional interest, it applies to her favored terrain (and uses the favored terrain bonus if a bonus is called for).

In addition, if the professional has any abilities that refer to a creature or phenomenon subject of professional interest, the trader can choose a creature or phenomenon to count as the subject when she successfully recalls information about it using a Profession skill or paired skill by concentrating on the subject for 1 minute; this replaces her previously chosen creature or phenomenon (whichever category the new subject is). Again, she uses her favored terrain bonus if a bonus is called for.

At 8th and 15th levels, the trader can choose another favored terrain and increase one existing favored terrain bonus by 2.

Efficient Transporter (Ex)

Also at 3rd level, if the trader takes 1 hour to pack her gear or the gear of one pack animal she guides each day, the target gains a +2 bonus to Strength to determine light encumbrance. This does not affect maximum carrying capacity. The efficient distribution of weight is simply less encumbering.

This replaces professional interest and contingent planning.
