Mighty Morpher (Henshin Hero Archetype) (SM—)
Mighty morphers have never gained the cultural clout of the Henshin Heroes of their original country, but nonetheless remain a potent force for justice. Drawing on a wider tradition of martial arts to varied measures of controversy, mighty morphers battle nefarious forces across existence.
Proficiencies
Mighty morphers are proficient with simple weapons, as well as light armor and bucklers. In addition, if this is this character’s first level in any class, they may select a martial tradition of their choice.
This alters weapon and armor proficiencies.
Combat Training (Ex)
A mighty morpher is considered an Expert practitioner, gaining spheres and talents as appropriate, and may choose either Charisma, Intelligence, or Wisdom as their practitioner modifier.
This replaces the hero powers gained at 2nd, 6th, 10th, 14th, and 18th level. This does not make this archetype incompatible with archetypes that modify the hero powers class feature without replacing hero powers at these levels.
Martial Acceleration (Ex)
At 1st level, the mighty morpher may spend martial focus to reduce the time needed to use finishing move from a swift or immediate action to a free action that can be taken outside his turn. If the mighty morpher possesses the delayed finisher hero power, he may spend martial focus to reduce the action to a free action that can be taken outside his turn.
The mighty morpher may also spend martial focus to reduce the time needed to use transformation to a swift action. If the mighty morpher possesses the high speed transformation hero power, he may spend martial focus to reduce the action to a free action that can be taken outside his turn.
Whenever the mighty morpher uses an attack action, he may use his finishing move as a free action rather than a swift or immediate action.
This replaces strong start.
Language Overlap (Ex)
A mighty morpher may select striker arts in place of hero powers, using his mighty morpher level as his effective striker level. A mighty morpher may spend tension gained from mighty morpher levels on striker arts and treat any mighty morpher abilities which spends tension as a tension techniques for the purpose of striker arts.
