Aromatologist
Aromatologists have the following class feature:
Aromatherapy (Su): Starting at 1st level, an aromatologist masters the creation and use of therapeutic incense. She may make a block of incense once per day as a full-round action that provokes attacks of opportunity. Incense spoils as though it were an herbalism plant, and may be stored in a preservation vessel as though it had a point value of 4. No matter how it is preserved, unused incense spoils after 1 week. When making incense, select any number of herbalism plants possessed by the aromatologist that meet the following criteria. These plants are consumed and become part of the incense.
- The plant is chewed for an effect.
- The plant does not deal damage.
- The plant has a duration of 1 minute or greater.
- The total point value of all plants to become part of the incense is equal to 2 or less. This increases by +1 point for every five aromatologist levels possessed.
The aromatologist may light a prepared block of incense as a standard action. When lighting the incense, she places it in an unoccupied square within reach and chooses one ally within 60 feet to be its "recipient".
While within 60 feet of the incense, the recipient gains the benefits of all herbalism plants that make it up. The aromatologist may break a recipient's connection to the incense as a standard action, though this connection breaks naturally if the recipient moves more than 60 feet away from the space the incense occupies. If a block of incense has no recipient, then the aromatologist may assign any ally within 60 feet of the incense to be its recipient as a swift action.
A block of incense burns for 1 minute before sputtering out, but ends early if destroyed. Incense has hit points equal to three times the aromatherapist's class level, as well as hardness equal to her Wisdom modifier.
If an herbalism plant used in a block of incense's construction grants immediate healing, this healing is only granted to the first recipient. If an herbalism plant grants temporary hit points or has a limited pool of power, such as cinderbloom, then the incense records the number of temporary hit points or the amount of limited power remaining when it ceases to benefit the former recipient, then grants the remainder to the next recipient.
Starting at 11th level, an aromatologist may create two blocks of incense daily.
This ability replaces compress.
