(The Dweomerlak class can be found on Owen K.C. Stephens’ blog)

Arcane voids cut themselves off from formulaic magic in its entirety, sacrificing their capacity to emulate even the weakest spell in exchange for greater defenses against uncanny forces.

Adaptable Study

At first level, the arcane void selects one of their class skills and uses their choice of Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma modifier rather than the normal modifier for that skill. The arcane void selects another class skill to do this with at 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th level.

This replaces broad study.

Void Alienation

The arcane void does not gain the cantrips class feature. When using lesser raw magic, raw magic, or greater raw magic, the arcane void cannot use these abilities to emulate spells.

Resist Magic

At 2nd level, the arcane void gains a +1 bonus to all saving throws against spells, spell-like abilities, and magic sphere effects. This bonus increases by an additional +1 for every 4 levels thereafter, to a maximum of +5 at 18th level.

Unquantifiable Arcana (Su)

At 20th level, the arcane void may roll twice and take the higher result on any saving throws they make against spells, spell-like abilities, and magic sphere effects. In addition, the number of points in their eldritch pool is increased by 20.

This replaces ultimate magic.

Dweomerlak Magic Arts

The following magic arts may be selected by the dweomerlak.

Discipline

You select a single psychic discipline. You gain all their granted powers at the appropriate levels (using your dweomerlak level as your psychic level). Each additional time you select this option, you gain an additional discipline.

Emotion

You select a single eliciter emotion, gaining its minor power as an eliciter of your level. Each additional time you select this option may choose to gain the minor power of a new emotion, or gain access to the next level of an emotion you already possess (lesser, greater, and master). You cannot gain a lesser power before 5th level, a greater power before 8th level, or a master power before 11th level.

Esoteric Training

You can select one sage esoteric training, gaining its granted powers at the appropriate levels (using your dweomerlak level as your sage level). This option may be selected an additional time for every 8 dweomerlak levels you possess. Each additional time you select this option, you gain an additional sage esotery.

Hypnotic Stare

You gain the hypnotic stare and painful stare abilities of a mesmerist of your dweomerlak level for the purpose of prerequisites and effects. Each additional time you select this option, you gain a single bold stare that you meet the prerequisites for.

Implement

You select one occultist implement, gaining its resonant power and base focus power but no spells. As a full-round action, you may spend any number of eldritch pool points to gain twice that amount of mental focus that lasts until you regain eldritch pool points. If you possess this magic art, you may select occultist focus powers corresponding to your implements in place of arcanist exploits or magus arcana using eldritch expertise. Use your dweomerlak level in place of your occultist level to determine the effects of these abilities. Each time you select this option, you gain an additional implement.

Path

You select two hedgewitch paths, gaining their path benefit and path power but not any magic talents (using your dweomerlak level as your hedgewitch level). Each time you select this option, you may either gain two additional paths or a single hedgewitch secret, including a grand secret if you are 10th level or higher.

Psionic Discipline

You can select one psion discipline. You do not gain any psionic powers, but gain all their other granted powers at the appropriate levels (using your dweomerlak level as your psion level). Each additional time you select this option, you gain an additional psion discipline.

Specialization

You select one incanter sphere specialization. You do not gain any magic talents or caster level bonuses, but gain all their other granted powers at the appropriate levels (using your dweomerlak level as your incanter level). Each additional time you select this option, you gain an additional sphere specialization.
(Author’s note: if you are using this option, it is suggested that the arcane school magic art only allow a character to select a single school per selection rather than 2).

Spirit

You select one shaman spirit, gaining its spirit ability, greater spirit ability, true spirit ability, and manifestation at the appropriate level (using your dweomerlak level as your shaman level). If you possess a familiar, that familiar also gains the spirit’s spirit animal ability. If you possess this magic art, you may select shaman hexes using the hex magic art as if you were a shaman with any spirit you have selected. Each time you select this option, you gain an additional spirit.

Strife

You select one dissident strife and gain the struggle, strife, strife benefit, unique conflict, strife dedication, confront motives, strife conviction, strife devotion, and strife mastery class features at the appropriate level (using your dweomerlak level as your dissident level). Each additional time you select this option, you gain a single nuance that you meet the prerequisites for.

Summon Equipment

You gain the summon equipment ability of an armorist of your dweomerlak level for the purpose of effects and prerequisites. Each additional time you select this option, you gain one armorist arsenal trick that you meet the prerequisites for. You spend uses of eldritch expertise in place of spell points when using summon equipment or arsenal tricks.

Theories

You select two theorist models, gaining their pattern and theory bonuses as well as the hypothesis dice and theory bonus class feature of the theorist (using your dweomerlak level as your theorist level). If you possess this magic art, you may select theorist research methods in place of magus arcana or arcanist exploits using eldritch expertise. In this case, you spend eldritch pool points in place of spell points for research methods. Each time you select this option, you gain two additional theorist models.

Dweomerlak Eldritch Expertise Options

A dweomerlak may select the following options for eldritch expertise as if they were magus arcana or arcanist exploits, using their dweomerlak level as the effective level in the corresponding class.

  • Mageknight mystic combats, spending eldritch pool points in place of spell points (the dweomerlak may not select mystic combats which do not require spending spell points)
  • Unchained monk ki powers, spending eldritch pool points in place of ki points (the dweomerlak may not select ki powers which do not require spending ki points)
  • Mesmerist tricks, spending eldritch pool points in place of uses of tricks
  • Sage esoteries, spending eldritch pool points in place of ki points (the dweomerlak may not select esoteries which do not require spending ki points)
